The Rock Salt is operated by WasatchWise LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Information you provide. When you create an account, submit a band profile, upload music, list an event, join the show-alert list, or contact us, you provide us with information such as your name, email address, and any content you submit.
• Information collected automatically. When you use the site, we collect standard usage data including pages visited, referring URLs, browser type, and IP address. We use cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and analytics.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account
• To display band profiles, events, and submitted content on the platform
• To send transactional emails related to your account or submissions
• To retain show-alert list addresses until an alert-delivery service is available
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• Google Analytics — site analytics
• PostHog — privacy-restricted product analytics
• Discord / WidgetBot — optional community widget
• AzuraCast — live audio streaming
• Vercel — hosting, infrastructure, and site analytics

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

User Content

Content you submit (band profiles, music, photos, event listings) is displayed publicly on the platform. You retain ownership of your content. By submitting content, you grant WasatchWise LLC a license to display and distribute it as part of The Rock Salt service.

Coins

Coins are earned through participation and have no cash value or redemption for real money. Coin balance information is stored in your account.

Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

A show-alert list entry stores the email address and capture source. Automated show-alert delivery is not active as of this policy date. You can ask us to remove a list entry using the contact address below.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. Utah residents have additional rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA).

Children

The Rock Salt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
